New York State Police troopers from the Somers barracks issued 50 vehicle and traffic tickets to drivers committing various violations on a stretch of the interstate on Saturday, Feb. 1. Buckle Up: Police Cracking Down On Unsafe Seatbelt Practices In State Parks New York State Police will soon begin to crack down on improper and unsafe seatbelt use throughout state parks. “BUNY in the Parks” is an enforcement and educational campaign implemented by New York State Police, the New York State Park Police and the Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee. Its goal is to help ensure that visitors of state parks are buckling up and staying safe. The campaign is also intended to teach the importance of properly securing younger visitors in approved child safety seats. Police Dish Out 52 Speeding Tickets In I-684 Detail Nearly 100 motorists were ticketed on Wednesday, as New York State Police troopers conducted a special speed enforcement detail on I-684 in Northern Westchester. During the special detail on Wednesday, Jan. 10 in Bedford and North Castle, 52 motorists were cited for speeding on the interstate while another 28 were issued for failure to wear a seatbelt, distracted driving and various other vehicle and traffic infractions.
