Child Struck, Killed By Car In Danbury Parking Lot A young child was struck and killed by a car in a parking lot in Fairfield County. The incident took place in Danbury around 2 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 22 in the area of Shelter Rock Road. According to Erin Henry of the Danbury Police, officers were dispatched to a home on Shelter Rock Road for a report of a motor vehicle accident involving a young child.  When officers arrived they learned that a child had been struck by a car in the parking lot, Henry said. The crash took place in Orange County around 9:30 p.m., Monday, April 17 on Route 211 in the town of Wallkill. When officers arrived on the scene, they discovered a 2012 Subaru driven by Juan M. Rhinebeck Road Reopens After Fatal Crash Update: Slate Quarry Road in the Town of Rhinebeck reopened in both directions early Wednesday night after an ongoing hazmat cleanup after a serious motor vehicle crash.  Those traveling through that area were advised to use caution and allow for extra time, the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office said.
