Chappaqua Crossing Apartments Officially Open New York State Homes and Community Renewal and Wilder Balter Partners announced the completion of a $21 million affordable housing development in the Chappaqua section of the Town of New Castle.  The Chappaqua Crossing development renovated the historic Reader’s Digest headquarters building to create 64 mixed-income apartments. Opening Date Now Scheduled For Chappaqua Whole Foods Whole Foods has set a target date of Wednesday, Nov. 7 for its grand opening at Chappaqua Crossing, according to New Castle Supervisor Robert Greenstein. Greenstein called it good news for the mixed use development at the former Reader's Digest headquarters since other potential tenants will likely begin signing leases, including a coffee shop, pet store and bank.  "It's nice to know that Whole Foods is starting work and has a firm opening date," Greenstein told DailyVoice.
