A Hudson Valley mother of three has died at the age of 50. Dutchess County resident Jennifer J. Strang-Thrasher, of Wassaic, died on Sunday, February 4, at Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie. Strang-Thrasher, born in Connecticut in the town of Sharon in Litchfield County, was a graduate of Dover High School and Dutchess Community College. She was a direct care worker at Cardinal Hayes Home for Children in Millbrook, for 30 years, according to her obituary. Funeral Details Released For 5 NY Women Struck Dead On I-81 In PA (

Funeral details and a statement from the family have been released after five women returning from Umrah in Mecca, Saudi Arabia were killed on Interstate 81 on Tuesday evening, Jan. 16. The women "were on their way back home from the Dulles airport," their family told Daily Voice. They were struck dead by a tractor-trailer at the 199.3-mile marker in Scott Township, approximately 12 miles north of Scranton, troopers detailed in a release. Support is pouring in for the relatives of a young Marine and aspiring police officer from the region who was killed in a car crash. Albany County resident Nicholas Camilli, age 24, of Loudonville, died Thursday, Oct. 26, in the two-car wreck on Old Niskayuna Road, according to Colonie Police. Investigators said Camilli was driving his motorcycle northbound on Old Niskayuna Road at around 7:20 p.m. when a car made a left turn in front of him near W. Cobble Hill Road. Colleagues and loved ones are mourning the loss of a young postal worker from the region following his untimely death. Czsar Lewis, of Albany, died on Sunday, Oct. 2, at the age of 24, according to his obituary. A cause of death was not given. Putnam County resident Ryan Daly, of Mahopac, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 11, according to his obituary. James T. Maryniak, a Hudson Valley business owner who grew up in Westchester County, has died at the age of 57. According to his obituary, Maryniak was born in New Rochelle and grew up in South Salem. He later moved to Wappingers Falls. Funeral arrangements have been announced for a longtime Putnam County Sheriff's deputy who was killed in a double-fatal crash in Northern Westchester. Michael J. Moore, 50, of Mahopac, was killed around 6 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 25 on Route 6N, said Yorktown Police. When police and fire officials arrived on the scene, they found Moore, who was the driver of one of the vehicles, dead.
