Danbury's Catherine Ann Spiegel, 85, Psychotherapist Who Loved The Ocean Catherine Ann Spiegel died peacefully on January 29 at St. John Paul II Center in Danbury. Catherine was born on June 7, 1935 in Dayton, OH to the late Harry Carmack and Mary Elizabeth Madigan Carmack. Catherine, known as Ann to her many friends and colleagues, graduated from the University of Dayton and went on to get her master’s degree at New York University. Danbury's William Dickens, Comic Who Tried Out For Harlem Globetrotters, Dies At 61 A Danbury man who is being remembered for his comedy and "failed" attempts" at becoming a Harlem Globetrotter, has died. William Wallace Dickens III,  better known as Wilbur Dickens, died Friday, June 7 from complications following surgery.  Dickens was born and raised in Danbury where he spent the majority of his life working in the sign industry after his many failed attempts at becoming a Harlem Globetrotter.  His true occupation was providing comic relief.
