Miami-Bound Fentanyl Dealer Nabbed In Dutchess County, Cops Say
An alleged fentanyl dealer in the region who was headed to Miami, Florida was nabbed by drug task agents before he could leave.
Dutchess County resident Jose J. Cruz, age 22, of Beacon, was arrested early Monday, March 25 in Hyde Park by members of the Dutchess County District Attorney’s Office Drug Task Force.
According to Det. Sgt. Adam Harris of the Task Force, Cruz had been under investigation for the sale of fentanyl and other drugs in Poughkeepsie, Hyde Park, and the surrounding areas.
During the investigation, Cruz made several drug transactions with Task Force agents.

Dutchess County Woman Busted With Drugs, Driving While High Following One-Car Crash, Police Say
A Hudson Valley woman was nabbed for alleged cocaine possession following a single-vehicle crash.
The incident took place in Dutchess County in LaGrange on Wednesday, Oct. 11, said Trooper AJ Hicks of the New York State Police.
According to Hicks, troopers responded to a rollover crash around 12:45 a.m. on the Taconic State Parkway near mile marker No. 48.
During the investigation, the driver, Katherine Griffin, age 55, of East Fishkill, was located in an intoxicated condition and in possession of approximately 5.8 grams of cocaine, and 3.4 grams of crack cocaine, Hicks said.

5 Hudson Valley Residents Nabbed In Drug Raid, Police Say
Following complaints from residents of drug dealing in the area, five Hudson Valley residents were busted for alleged drug sales and other charges during a warrants search.
The incident took place in Ulster County in Kingston around 5:30 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 15 at a home on Third Avenue.
According to the Kingston Police Department, officers searched the home and found drug paraphernalia, weapons, and drugs.

Three men face numerous charges after allegedly trafficking ghost guns, assault weapons, and large quantities of cocaine from Massachusetts to New York, officials said.

Trio Nabbed Smuggling Drugs Into Hudson Valley Prison On Same Day, Police Say
Three different women who didn't know each other were allegedly nabbed smuggling drugs into a Hudson Valley prison on the same day.
The incident took place in Orange County on Sunday, Feb. 19 at the Otisville Correctional Facility, said Trooper Steven Nevel.
At 10 a.m., 12 p.m., and 12:15 p.m., State Police from the Greenville barracks were contacted by the facility of three different women attempting to bring narcotics into the facility. None of the suspects were together, Nevel said.

Man, Woman Charged After 250 Bags Of Fentanyl, Heroin Seized During Traffic Stop In Area
Two people are facing felony charges after a Hudson Valley traffic stop led to the discovery of about 250 bags of fentanyl and heroin, authorities reported.
Authorities saw a vehicle commit a traffic violation on Sawkill-Ruby Road in the Town of Ulster on Thursday, Sept. 8, according to the Ulster County Sheriff's Office.
The driver, identified as 29-year-old Melissa Neglia, of Saugerties, was found to be driving the vehicle with a revoked license, authorities said.

I-87 Stop Leads To Felony Drug Charges
A traffic stop in the Capital District ended with a man jailed on felony drug charges, authorities said.
State Police in Saratoga County stopped William Boyd, age 38, of Niskayuna, at around 9:40 a.m. Monday, Aug. 29, on I-87 in the town of Moreau.
Troopers had initially stopped Boyd for violating vehicle and traffic laws, police said.
During their interaction, however, troopers determined that he was in possession of a large quantity of cocaine, according to police.
Boyd was arrested on felony charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Man Caught With 14 Grams Of Cocaine After Stop In Area, Police Say
A routine traffic stop in the region ended with a man in handcuffs.
Troopers stopped the man in Orange County, on I-87 in New Windsor, Thursday, May 5, for a vehicle and traffic violation, New York State Police said.
After searching the vehicle, the trooper found approximately 14 grams of cocaine, police said.
The 52-year-old driver, Marco Smith, of South Glens Falls in Saratoga County, was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony.
He was released and ordered to appear back at the Town of New Windsor Court Thursday, May 26.
