New Update: Buses To Replace Suspended Metro-North Trains After Severe Storms In Hudson Valley
In the aftermath of severe storms that left Hudson Line tracks covered in water and debris, Metro-North officials have announced that a limited bus service will replace suspended trains in the Hudson Valley. The limited bus service will begin serving the Hudson Line at around 1 p.m. on Monday, July 10, and will make stops between the Croton-Harmon and Poughkeepsie stations, MTA officials announced. Person Struck, Killed By Train In Area
A person was struck and killed by an Amtrak train in Northern Westchester, causing delays, according to the MTA. Shortly before 4 p.m. on Thursday, March 17, the Metro-North Hudson Line was forced to temporarily delay travel in both directions near the Peekskill station to allow police to investigate the train strike. The investigation lasted approximately 30 minutes before services were resumed with hourlong delays being reported in both directions. Dutchess Man Injured In Route 9 Crash
Three local residents injured in a head-on crash on Route 9 had to be airlifted to Westchester Medical Center, officials said. The crash occurred around 5 p.m. Wednesday when a vehicle driving south veered into the oncoming lane and struck a northbound car, said state police. The Garrison Volunteer Fire Company said in a Facebook post that two medical helicopters landed at their firehouse and that several good Samaritans stopped to help as well as Captain Mike Gallo of East Fishkill FD.
