Woman Rescued By Forest Rangers After Crashing ATV In Hudson Valley State Forest Rangers recently responded to a serious ATV accident in the Hudson Valley in which a woman was injured. The incident took place around 9:45 p.m., Friday, June 11m when Rangers were contacted by Ulster County 911 requesting assistance for an ATV accident at 146 Belleayre Ridge Road near Belleayre Mountain in the town of Shandaken, the state Department of Environmental Conservation. The incident involving Michael S. Morris, of Wallkill, happened around 1 p.m., Saturday, April 11, on Cottage Street in the Village of Wallkill, said Trooper Steven Nevel, spokesman for the New York State Police. ID Released For Man Killed In ATV Accident A man found dead beside an ATV in Harriman State Park by a father and his children, also riding an ATV, has been identified by police. Andrew Columbia, 58, of Suffern, was found around noon on Sunday, Jan. 12, on Regis Court in Suffern, according to Trooper Steven Nevel with the New York State Police. The only access point into the woods for first responders was behind 8 Regis Court in the Village of Montebello. 15-Year-Old Killed In Hudson Valley ATV Crash A 15-year-old high school student was killed after he lost control of his all-terrain vehicle in Northern Westchester late Friday morning. State police said the crash occurred at around 11:30 a.m. on Blackberry Hill Road in Somers, just south of Somers High School and opposite Reis Park. The boy killed has been identified as Reece Ferrara of Somers. The ATV struck a concrete mailbox pillar, ejecting Ferrara from the vehicle, according to state police. He was transported to Westchester Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.
