On Wednesday, March 15, New York State Police were dispatched to a Berkshire Road in Dover Plains following reports of a drug complaint.
According to police, upon arrival, police determined that Wingdale resident Melissa Bootier was smoking marijuana in her home while in the presence of three children under the age of 10. Troopers arrested Bootier and ensured that the children were in good health before turning them over to a family member.
Bootier was charged with three counts of unlawfully dealing with a child, misdemeanors, and unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation. She was processed at the state police barrack in Dover and is due back in court on Thursday, March 23.
