The events will cover identifying the signs of addiction, where to get help, how to dispose of unused prescription medication and how to administer naloxone.
Naloxone can be administered to someone experiencing an overdose on opioids. Participants will receive a kit after completing training.
The Dover Plains event takes place on Wednesday, April 20, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. RSVP by calling 845-877-5700, ext. 1282.
The Amenia Town Hall event takes place Saturday, April 23, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The events are presented by State Sen. Sue Serino and The Council on Addiction Prevention and Education of Dutchess County.
