Officer Dragged By Car While Trying To Arrest Shoplifting Suspect In Area, Police Say A police officer was seriously injured after being dragged by a fleeing shoplifting suspect in the Hudson Valley. The incident took place in Dutchess County around 1:45 p.m. on Tuesday, March 15 in the Town of Poughkeepsie, at the Home Depot store located on North Road. The loss prevention employee gave a physical description of the suspect, later identified as John Vanleuven Jr., age 29, and followed him on foot to the area of North Road and West Cedar Street, said the Town of Poughkeepsie Police. Man Used Stolen Credit Card To Make Purchases At Area Rite Aid, Police Say Police nabbed a man who had stolen a person's credit card and then used it to purchase numerous items at a Rite Aid store. David Sanchez, 39, of Union City, was nabbed around 7 p.m. Friday by the Town of Poughkeepsie Police following a complaint of fraudulent purchases on a victim’s credit card, said Capt. Kevin Faber. Responding officers determined that Sanchez had made fraudulent purchases using the victim’s stolen credit card at Rite Aid, 3350 North Road in Poughkeepsie. Police Search For Town Of Poughkeepsie Bank Robber After Crash The Town of Poughkeepsie Police is asking for the public's help in locating a man who robbed a bank Tuesday and then escaped in a vehicle before crashing it and getting away on foot. The incident began around 6 p.m. when police responded to the TEG Federal Credit Union at 11 Marist Drive for a reported bank robbery, said Capt.
