A total of five people face drug-related charges after authorities made arrests in three separate incidents in the Hudson Valley, police said. The five arrests were all made by the Narcotics Enforcement Unit in Putnam County and stemmed from three incidents on Tuesday, June 13, Wednesday, June 14, and Wednesday, May 31, according to the Putnam County Sheriff's Office. A 27-year-old man is facing charges for allegedly killing his ex-girlfriend's pets over the course of a year, authorities announced. Matthew Savinovich, of the borough of Norwood in Bergen County, New Jersey, was arrested on Wednesday, Oct. 6 by officers from the Putnam County SPCA for allegedly killing three chihuahuas and a ferret that belonged to his ex in Lake Peekskill. Northern Westchester Man Nabbed For Bail Jumping
A Bedford Hills man was nabbed for bail jumping after a warrant was issued for his arrest after he failed to show up to court. Denny Ray Frederick, 59, was arrested on Tuesday, Nov. 5, by the Yorktown Police after the Westchester County Police found he was wanted on an active warrant. According to police, Frederick was wanted for failing to appear in Yorktown Court on a previous charge, the Yorktown Police said. Once he was processed by Yorktown, he was turned over to the North Castle police where he was also wanted on an active warrant.

Convicted Rapist Who Fled Country During Trial Taken Into Custody In Northern Westchester
A visit to a deli on a red bicycle led to the arrest by Westchester County Police detectives of a man who fled from a rape trial 30 years ago. Nelson Gustavo Caceres, 51, was arrested Friday, July 5, and remanded back to the County Jail in Valhalla after Westchester County detectives tracked him to the deli in Mount Kisco following an intensive investigation, said Kieran O'Leary, spokesman for the Westchester County Police. Danbury resident Anthonie Ogilvie was arrested on Monday, Jan. 28 after failing to show up in court for aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle dating back to an incident last year. An inmate incarcerated at the Rikers Island Correctional Facility is facing new charges after allegedly jumping bail in Yorktown. On Oct. 25, 2016, Putnam County resident Irving Balsley, 44, was arrested in Yorktown for petit larceny, police said. An Orange County man has pleaded guilty to animal cruelty and bail-jumping after he burned a kitten and a cat to death in a cage. Dee Jay Atkins, 55, pleaded guilty Thursday to aggravated cruelty to animals and second-degree bail jumping, confirmed the Orange County District Attorney's Office.
