State Police Provide Motorists With Winter Driving Tips With winter weather on its way, Major Charles Guess of the New York State Police, is asking motorists to remember to keep safe on the roads. Fake IRS Phone Calls Target Dutchess County Seniors POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Seniors across Dutchess County are being advised to be extra cautious as an IRS-related phone scam continues to be pervasive, according to a report in the Poughkeepsie Journal. Teaneck Basketball Star Continues Hoop Prowess In College TEANECK, N.J. - Former Teaneck High School basketball star Joel Hernandez built upon his success as a Highwayman to become a key part of the Long Island University team. Since the beginning of the 2015-16 season, Hernandez started all of Long Island's first six games and averaged 10.2 points and 6 rebounds per game. The Blackbirds went 4-2 in those games. Dutchess Sheriff Makes 16 Arrests In Thanksgiving Crackdown DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. -- Of the 16 arrests that the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office made between Nov. 25 to Nov. 29, 14 of them were impaired diving charges, according to a report in the Poughkeepsie Journal. Woman Charged With Endangering Welfare Of Disabled 20-Year-Old In Red Hook RED HOOK, N.Y. - A 20-year-old mentally handicapped person is safe after a recent altercation ended in charges filed against the victim's caregiver, police said, New York State Police in Rhinebeck charged Monique Jenkins, 41 of Poughkeepsie Friday with endangering the mentally handicapped person who was in her care.
