Mike Hrycko's Pitching Gem Lifts Croton Baseball

CROTON-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – Mike Hrycko pitched a complete-game shutout and the Croton defense made several key plays Wednesday as the Tigers advanced in the Section 1 Class B baseball playoffs with a 1-0 victory over Pawling.

The Tigers, seeded No. 16, won the out-bracket qualifier over No. 17 Pawling and will travel to No. 1 seed Briarcliff for Thursday's opening round game in the single elimination tournament.

Hrycko struck out four and allowed just three hits over the seven innings.

Shortstop Dennis Traditi and catcher Matt Genarelli made the big plays on defense to help keep Pawling scoreless. The only run of the game was scored on a sacrifice fly hit by Traditi in the third inning. Traditi had two hits for the Tigers.
