Cortlandt National Baseball Falls To Lewisboro

CORTLANDT, N.Y. – The Cortlandt National 11-Under baseball team continued Sunday its play in the Williamsport Tournament, falling to Lewisboro 6-5 in a second-round game.

Cortlandt National Little League will play in a consolation game Wednesday against an opponent to be determined. Liam McHale had two hits to lead the Cortlandt National offense in the loss to Lewisboro.

Cortlandt advanced to the second round with an 11-1 victory over Bedford Hills Saturday behind Nick Caruso’s three-hit pitching performance. Matt Ptashnik led the offense with a home run and a triple.

In Thursday's opening round, pitchers Thomas Pecchia and Jack Kelly held Putnam Valley to three hits to lead the Cortlandt National to a 4-1 victory. Ptashnik led the offense with a solo home run, while Pecchia and Anthony Mitrione each had RBI doubles. Paul Hartian and Kelly added three hits to lift the offense.
