Lakeland Students Receive Technical Honors

Five Lakeland students were recognized for their honesty, service, leadership, skill development and high academic achievement when they were inducted last week into the National Technical Honor Society.

The students were honored during a ceremony last week at the Yorktown campus of the Putnam Northern Westchester Board of Cooperative Educational.

“One aspect of honor is glory, but there is a different meaning as well,” said Dr. Jim Langlois, superintendent of the Putnam Northern Westchester BOCES. “There’s also something internal that lies in your heart. It is courage, honest, trustworthiness and integrity. People of honor are called on to make the world a better place.”

Induction into the honor society is the highest technical achievement a student can attain.

The students inducted  were Ari Brown for Computer Graphics, Robert Dinotte for Construction Electricity, Peter Williams for Construction Electricity, Jennifer Cusack for Fashion Design & Merchandising and Josh Blieden for Law Enforcement.
