CROTON-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. -- The students of Carrie E. Tompkins created personalized pockets to carry hand-selected poems in celebration of Poem in Your Pocket Day on Wednesday, April 20.
Students in Joann Chousa's third grade class shared poems they authored, as well as ones from poetry books with their peers throughout the day.
Poem in Your Pocket Day takes place during National Poetry Month, which celebrates literature in schools, libraries, bookstores and beyond.
