Woman Charged With Stealing Jewelry From Kohl's In Cortlandt

CORTLANDT, N.Y. -- An Ossining woman faces shoplifting charges after police said she stole jewelry from the Kohl’s department store in Cortlandt.

State police have charged Ana Cochancela, 35, of Ossining, with petit larceny in connection with the theft of some jewelry at the Kohl's department store in Cortlandt.

Ana Cochancela, 35, was arrested on Sunday, Dec. 6, at the store, state police said.

She was charged with petit larceny, a Class A misdemeanor.

Police said that the store’s loss-prevention personnel told them that the suspect had concealed some jewelry in her pocket and had tried to leave without paying for it.

Cochancela was released after posting $300 bail and is to appear in the Town of Cortlandt Justice Court on Monday, Dec. 21, police said.
