Kelly Grady, 41, was working at a Patterson business and was in possession of forged checks from that business, according to Smith. Officials did not release the name of the business.
Grady surrendered to authorities Wednesday and is charged with second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, Smith said.
Grady, who is accused of cashing the checks, faces up to seven years in state prison and a fine of at least $5,000, according to Smith.
Grady was released from custody pending a future appearance in Patterson Justice Court.
