New Hampshire resident Rattana Phimmavongsa was arrested for stalking on Saturday, Jan. 18, after allegedly harassing a Southeast woman, Putnam County Sheriff Robert Langley announced.
he woman stated that she and Phimmavongsa used to play an online game together, "Ark Survival," but she stopped having contact with him years ago.
On Jan. 18, he showed up at the woman’s home after hacking into her online gaming account, and he was arrested and released under the new New York bail reform law. At the time of his release, an Order of Protection was issued by the court ordering Phimmavongsa not to contact the woman.
Langley said that despite the protective order, Phimmavongsa alleged called his victim at least five times on Tuesday, Feb. 11, the same day he was scheduled to appear in the Town of Southeast Justice Court.
Phimmavongsa’s victim alerted the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office, and Phimmavongsa was later located at Heidi’s Inn in the Town of Southeast and taken into custody without incident.
Following his latest arrest, Phimmavongsa was charged with multiple counts of criminal contempt and arraigned in the Town of Southeast Court. He was later released again due to bail reform laws and is scheduled to appear back in court later this year.
