Victim Identified in Fatal Yorktown Crash

YORKTOWN, N.Y. - A two-car accident on Tuesday in Yorktown left one man dead and two others injured, according to the Yorktown Police Department.

The collision took place on Route 100 in Yorktown at about 2:30 pm. The dead man was identified as Bronx resident Yeboah Opoku, 51.

The man died in the crash where police say a preliminary investigation shows two cars traveling north and south collided in what they described as a t-bone collision. Police say after the call for the accident came in Yorktown Police, Emergency Medical Services and the Yorktown Fire Department were all dispatched to the scene.

The other two individuals injured in the crash, Daniel Amonkotey of the Bronx, 59, and Dana Leonardi, 53, of Garrison were transported to Westchester Medical Center for treatment.

The accident which occurred in the middle of Rt. 100,  west of Rt. 134,  closed the road for several hours and is still under investigation by the Yorktown Police Investigation Unit.
