The fundraising series, known as "Raise the Barn" is set to help ensure the "vitality and future of Hemlock Hills, one of the last remaining vestiges of Westchester's once rich agricultural roots," according to a press release. Captain Lawrence Brewing Co. and several area businesses will be holding the week-long fundraiser starting June 16 and culminating with the annual pig roast on June 22.
Captain Lawrence Owner Scott Vaccaro said it was important to help Hemlock Hill.
"We are fortunate to still have productive farms in Westchester," Vaccaro said in the release. Our hope is to raise enough money to rebuild the main barn, and in the process to give back to a great local business."
Other local restaurants joining in on the fundraising efforts are Restaurant North of Armonk, Village Dog and The Tapp in Tarrytown. All three restaurants will be "incorporating meats and produce straight from Hemlock Hill, so that guests at these events can enjoy true 'Farm to Table' experiences," according to the release.
