Police Arrest Man Who Beat, Burned Mobil Cashier

YORKTOWN, N.Y.— Police have arrested the man they said is responsible for assaulting and burning a cashier at a Mobil gas station on Route 6 last week.

Mark Joiner, 19, of 3195 East Main St. in Cortlandt, was arrested for robbery in the second degree, a felony, for throwing hot coffee in the cashier’s face, and then assaulting the cashier with a beer bottle in the store on October 4, shortly after midnight.

Police said the cashier reported his cell phone stolen and that he was forced to open the cash register. Joiner was arrested October 5 by Yorktown Police and New York State Police and was remanded without bail to Westchester County Jail.
