Man Issued DWI, Overturns Car on Bear Mountain Road

CORTLANDT, N.Y. – New York State Police issued a DWI to a Highland Falls man after he overturned his car on Bear Mountain Bridge Road in Cortlandt. The man was transported to Westchester Medical Center to be treated for a back injury. Police did not release further details about the man’s medical condition.

New York State Police responded to a one car motor vehicle accident on Bear Mountain Bridge Road just after 11 p.m. Sunday night. Police said James M. Vasquez, 37, of Highland Falls, lost control of his car while driving westbound on the winding road, drove off the shoulder of the roadway, and overturned his vehicle.

Vasquez refused to submit to a chemical alcohol test, and was issued a DWI. He is due in Cortlandt Town Justice Court on Dec. 19, at 9 a.m.
