CROTON-ON-HUDSON,NY – Two suspects have been arrested after police say they burglarized a unit in the Springvale Apartment Complex in Croton-on-Hudson and attempted to burglarize a second apartment when they were scared off, early Wednesday morning.

Residents might have woken up to the sound of a helicopter Wednesday, after the two burglary suspects were tracked down on foot by the New York State Police. Police received a call of a burglary in progress at the Springvale Apartments at about 6:35 a.m.

When police arrived two suspects fled on foot, and were apprehended after a short pursuit.

The two suspects were identified as Rajeam Jackson, 18, currently homeless, but of the Ossining and Poughkeepsie area, and a 15-year-old male runaway. The juvenile ran away from the Edenwald School in Pleasantville.

Police say the two subjects entered the first apartment in the Springvale complex, awakening the resident as they stole cash, and attempted to enter a second occupied apartment when the resident’s scream scared them off.

Both subjects are charged with felony burglary and both are in arraignment Wednesday night. Jackson is being arraigned in the Town of Cortlandt Justice Court, and the juvenile is being arraigned in Westchester County Family Court.
