Friday, June 10

1:48 a.m.

Two teenage defendants were arrested at Half Moon Bay Condominiums in Croton, for criminal possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of alcohol. One defendant was charged with having more than two ounces of marijuana. Police are not releasing the names of the defendants because of their age.

10:30 a.m.

A woman who owned her own home-based cosmetics business in Croton was contacted by a woman who identified herself as being a Croton resident. The business owner quoted the woman a price of $139, and was sent two Fedex packages, each containing a check for $2,500, and instructions to wire the money to Oregon. The business owner contacted the Croton Police suspecting it was a scam.

Saturday, June 11

3:49 a.m.

Officer David Wingfield and Officer Daria Murtagh received a call from a woman on Beekman Avenue who reported seeing two subjects entering her neighbor’s car. An 18-year-old was detained at the scene with different pieces of property in his possession. It was later determined that the properties were part of larcenies from cars, and the defendant was transported to headquarters. Police were able to identify property from three different cars, along with some unidentified properties. A forged Delaware driver’s license was also found in the defendant’s possession. The defendant was charged with criminal possession of a forged instrument, a felony, and criminal possession of stolen property in excess of $1,000, also a felony. Beekman Avenue residents who have notice property missing from their car should contact Croton Police, as some properties found in the defendant’s possession have no yet been identified.

Sunday, June 12

10:32 a.m.

A Church Street resident reported two tires slashed overnight. An investigation is still pending.

6:33 p.m.

Officers Douglas Garrido and Eric Seymour stopped a car because the driver was talking on a cell phone, the minor driver was unable to produce a driver’s license. Proceeds from larcenies of cars reported earlier in the week were found in the defendant’s trunk after impound, and the defendant admitted to the larceny of cars earlier in the week.

Monday, June 13

6:35 p.m.

Police contacted a Beekman Avenue resident to return stolen property after the victim’s car was broken into, the victim positively identified the iPod.

Tuesday, June 14

Half Moon Bay resident reported a $7,000 bracelet and laptop missing from her premises, there were no signs of forced entry.

Wesnesday, June 15

A missing two-year-old was reported, and found a few minutes later. The two-year-old was found by Detective Camellieri, the child was on his way to the park. Mother and child were reunited.

Thursday, June 16

2:20 a.m.

Michael Marmone was arrested for engaging in a speed contest with officers, and refusing to stop. The defendant refused to pull over, lost control of his car and crashed on Route 9 North, where he was arrested and charged with fleeing a police officer, and with engaging in  a speed contest.
