Cortlandt Announces 10 Year Sept. 11 Memorial

CORTLANDT – Residents are invited to join the town officials of Cortlandt, Buchanan and Croton-on-Hudson for a memorial ceremony at Town Hall for tenth anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks.

“We will remember the 2,973 people who perished on September 11, 2001 after hijacked planes crashed in New York City, Arlington, Virginia and in Pennsylvania,” said Supervisor Linda Puglisi. “The heroes who assisted in the aftermath of the attack will also be remembered at this time, as well as, those who have bravely defended our country.”

The towns recently postponed the creation of their permanent Sept. 11 memorial, the planned Buchanan/Cortlandt/Croton?on?Hudson 9/11 Remembrance Memorial at Croton Landing, but hope to have the monument completed for the next anniversary.

The memorial ceremony will take place on Sunday, Sept. 11 at 2 p.m. For more information contact the office of Linda Puglisi at (914) 734-1002.
