Memorial for Croton's Maffucci on Saturday

CROTON, N.Y. – A memorial service will be held on Nov. 12 for Filomena Maffucci of Croton, who died earlier this year.

A former administrative assistant and Westchester Medical Society employee, Maffucci died on Jul. 22, after suffering from dementia.

Born on Mar. 2, 1920 to Frank and Josephine Zingaro, she attended North Tarrytown schools. She married Dominic Maffucci on Jun. 28 at Immaculate Conception Church in North Tarrytown. He predeceased her in 2001.

Maffucci's former employers include County Trust Bank, C & C Trucking and Anchor Motor Freight, from where she retired. Post retirement, Maffucci took a position with the Westchester Medical Society in Port Chester and began enjoying full retirement at the age of 72.

An avid cook, she hosted many family holidays, enjoyed card games with her grandchildren and read for relaxation. Maffucci is survived by her daughter Flavia White of Ossining, two grandsons and three great-grandchildren.

The memorial service will be held on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Ossining. Memorial donations can be made to New York Medical College, Department of Cell Biology and Anatomy, Basic Sciences Building, 40 Sunshine Cottage Road, Valhalla, N.Y. 10595.
