Professional archaeologist D. Eugene Boesch will discuss some interesting 17th and 18th century archaeological sites in New York City and Westchester. Several programs will be presented throughout the afternoon.
Native Technologies will be offered from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. and again from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.
There also will be a discussion of the St. George's Site in Mount Kisco, an ongoing excavation that includes history of the Native Americans, Colonial farming and the Revolutionary War.
Barry Keegan, who has worked in the filed of living archaeology since 1991, will join Boesch in unfolding the ways of the past, including flint knapping stone knives and points and demonstrating the nine ways to make friction and fire, how to tan hides, the use of edible plants to survive and more information from a vanishing way of life.
There also will be a book sale, artifact identification and open library.
