Man Lures Teen Into Car, Attempts To Sexually Abuse Victim At Capital Region Store, Police Say A 48-year-old man’s attempt at sexually abusing an underage teen outside a convenience store in the region has landed him behind bars, police said. Saratoga County resident Joseph Kohler, of Clifton Park, is facing multiple charges stemming from the alleged encounter, which occurred Saturday, Aug. 12, in the Town of Halfmoon. Ice Cream Shop Robbery: Man Threatens To Shoot Employee At Capital Region Farm, Police Say A 34-year-old man is accused of robbing a roadside ice cream shop in the region and threatening to shoot an employee if they didn't meet his demands. The Saratoga County robbery happened just before 8 a.m. Monday, July 17, in the Town of Halfmoon, at the Hayner’s Ice Cream & Country Store on Highway 236. An employee told Saratoga County Sheriff’s deputies that a man forcibly stole money and threatened the use of a gun. The employee was not injured. Former Volunteer Firefighter In Region Who 'Always Put Others Before Herself' Dies At Age 85 Friends and loved ones are mourning the loss of a former firefighter in the region with a history of serving her community. Saratoga County’s Carole McBride, of the Town of Halfmoon, died Friday, Dec. 23, at the age of 85, according to her obituary. A cause of death was not given. Born in Troy on Feb. 26, 1937 to parents Hubert and Helen Muckle, “she was known for her warm and welcoming personality, always putting others before herself, and going out of the way to help those in need,” reads her memorial.
