17-Year-Old Victim In Double-Fatal Crash In Region Was 'Easy To Love' Friends and family members are remembering a 17-year-old teen killed in a double-fatal crash as loving sports and his family. Jack J. Noble, of the hamlet of Port Ewen, died unexpectedly on Monday, Jan. 8, during the collision in Ulster County around 9 a.m., Monday, Jan. 8 on Route 28 in the town of Shandaken. A native of Kingston, Jack was a junior at Kingston High School. He was an honor roll student and a Varsity athlete, his obituary said. Man From Region Dies After Becoming Trapped Under ATV In Stream A man who was reported missing after a day of riding his ATV was found dead underneath the vehicle in a stream in the region. The Ulster County incident took place in Port Ewen on Tuesday, Sept. 26. According to Trooper Steven Nevel, of the New York State Police, Wayne Nickerson, age 47, of Port Ewen was reported missing by his partner after he failed to return home from a ride on his ATV. State Police performed an immediate search of the area but failed to find the missing man, Nevel said. Man From Region Behind Bars For Sharing Intimate Images Of Victim, Police Say A man from the region is behind bars without bail following an investigation for sharing intimate images of a victim. Ulster County resident Joshua Sickler, age 44, of Port Ewen, was charged on Tuesday, Oct. 3 by New York State Police, said  Trooper AJ Hicks. Sickler was charged with: Unlawful surveillance Unlawful dissemination of an intimate image Aggravated harassment After receiving a complaint, Investigators determined Sickler disseminated intimate images of the victim, Hicks said. Mother Shot On Porch Of Home In Region Near Young Child Detectives are investigating after a mother was shot on the front porch of her Hudson Valley home in what's called a safe area. The incident took place in Ulster County around 9:50 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 6 in the hamlet of Port Ewen. According to the Ulster County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to a home on North Court for a report of gunshots and a woman screaming. When deputies arrived on the scene they found a 34-year-old woman on a porch with a gunshot wound to her hip, the department said. 39-Year-Old From Region Accused Of Inappropriately Touching Minor For Months, Police Say A Hudson Valley man is facing criminal charges after police said he sexually abused a minor. Ulster County resident Brandon Ferguson, age 39, of Port Ewen, was arrested Friday, July 29 on a charge of felony sexual abuse. New York State Police said an investigation revealed that he had inappropriately touched the minor victim over a period of several months. Ferguson was arraigned in the town of Cairo Court before a judge released him on his own recognizance. He’s due back in the Town of Catskill Court on Thursday, Aug. 4.
