Long Island residents Kevin Moore, age 61, and Carol Moore, age 57, of Massapequa, are named in a four-count criminal complaint that was filed in US District Court in Washington, DC on Monday, May 13. According to investigators, the couple attended then-President Donald Trump’s speech at the Ellipse that morning before making their way to the Capitol building. ID Released For Person Struck, Killed By Train In Region Officials with the Metropolitan Transportation Authority have released the identity of a man who was killed after being struck by a train in the Hudson Valley. Paul Engel, age 67, of Manhattan, was killed in Orange County around 5:30 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 17 in Scotchtown, a hamlet of the town of Wallkill. Earlier report: Person On Tracks, Struck, Killed By Train In Scotchtown According to the MTA, Engel was struck by a New Jersey Transit Authority train and confirmed dead at the scene. An investigation is ongoing by the MTA Police.

Person Fatally Struck By Train In Region An investigation is underway after an individual was fatally struck by a train in the Hudson Valley over the weekend. A person was hit by a northbound Metro-North train in Dutchess County between New Hamburg and Poughkeepsie at 9:45 a.m. on Sunday, May 29, according to representatives from the Metropolitan Transportation Authority. The individual died at the scene, MTA said. Representatives did not release the identity or any details about the person who died.  Check back to Daily Voice for updates.

Area Woman, 23, Remembered For Her 'Overwhelmingly Desire To Help Others' As family and friends say a final goodbye to a 23-year-old woman from the region who died after being struck in the head by a passing train, she is being remembered for her desire to help others. Putnam County resident, Hope Mantovi, of Mahopac, was struck around 8:30 p.m., Saturday, March 19, in Woodlawn in the Bronx, said Metropolitan Transportation Authority officials. Mantovi died on Friday, April 8, at St. Barnabas Hospital from injuries incurred during the accident.
