Post-Tropical Storm Ophelia will continue to affect much of the region with rain, heavy at times, and dangerous coastal conditions on Monday, Sept. 25, National Weather Service. More Spotty Storms Possible As Potent System Pushes Through Northeast New rounds of scattered showers and storms could lead to localized areas of flash flooding in parts of the region with the possibility of isolated tornadoes. The time frame for the storm is Monday night, Aug. 14 into Tuesday, Aug. 15. Rainfall rates of 1 to 2 inches an hour are possible where there are heavy downpours, according to the National Weather Service. As the hottest air mass of the season builds, a new round of scattered strong to severe storms will sweep through across the region. Strong thunderstorms will develop around midday Thursday, July 27, and track east during the afternoon and evening, the National Weather Service said.
