Dutchess County resident Loretta Lashomb, of Wingdale, claimed a top prize from the New York Lottery’s $1,000,000 Lucky Dog scratch-off game, the lottery announced on Monday, Aug. 22. She received the prize as a single, lump-sum payment of $559,860 after required withholdings, NY Lottery said. The ticket was purchased at Carol’s Gift Shop, which is located at 3081 Route 22 in Dover Plains, the lottery said.

ID Released For Tour Bus Driver From Hudson Valley In Crash Hospitalizing 57 The identity has been released of the driver of a tour bus headed from the Hudson Valley that crashed on the New York Thruway about 25 miles west of Syracuse, sending 57 people to the hospital. The crash happened Saturday afternoon, Aug. 14 on westbound I-90 near Exit 40 (Weedsport) in Cayuga County when it exited the roadway for an unknown reason and rolled over onto the grassy shoulder, according to New York State Police. Tori Hinman of Wingdale in Dutchess County, was stopped after making an illegal U-turn in a parking lot, Milford Police said.  Hinman was found to be in possession of heroin, packaged for sale, as well as marijuana, according to police.
