Rockland County Man Killed In Single-Vehicle Crash
A Hudson Valley man was killed during a single-vehicle crash, The crash took place in Rockland County around 9 a.m., Saturday, April 9, on Route 45 in Ramapo on North Main Street and Bristol Lane. On arrival, officers learned that the sole occupant of the vehicle, a 57-year-old man from Hillcrest, had been ejected from a Jeep Grand Cherokee, the Ramapo Police said. Spring Hill Ambulance and Rockland Paramedics arrived on the scene the driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver has not been identified pending notification of next of kin. A motorist was airlifted to the hospital after a car crashed into a utility pole, leading to the closure of a stretch of Route 45 in Rockland County overnight. The crash happened around 3:40 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 12 in New Hempstead, leading to the closure of the roadway between Rensselaer Drive and Greenridge Way as Orange and Rockland Utilities crews worked to restore power. Man Driving Drunk On Route 45 In Rockland Had Child In Vehicle, Rockland Sheriff Says
A Rockland County man is facing multiple charges after being busted driving with a blood alcohol content more than double the legal limit with a child in the car, Rockland County Sheriff Louis Falco announced. A member of the Sheriff’s Office on patrol at approximately 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 9, stopped Spring Valley resident Ismael Roldan-Zuniga, 29, on Route 45 when he made a traffic violation in New Hempstead. Route 45 Lane Closures Scheduled For Rockland
There will be alternating lane closures in both directions for several days on a busy Rockland County roadway as contractors perform construction in Spring Valley. The New York State Department of Transportation issued an alert cautioning motorists that from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day between Thursday, June 13 and Monday, June 17, there will be lane closures on Route 45 between East Funston Avenue and Old Nyack Turnpike. Pedestrian Struck, Killed In Rockland
A local woman was struck and killed while crossing the street in Rockland. Susanne Noel, 72, of Spring Valley, was struck around 9 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, on West Eckerson Road, said Ramapo Police Department Sgt. Michael Higgins. The driver stopped and stayed at the scene and did not show any signs of impairment and was not issued any summons last night, Higgins said. Two Charged With DWI In Rockland Sheriff Stops
Two area residents were nabbed for aggravated DWI after being stopped for a traffic violation by the Rockland County Sheriff's Office. Jean Eddyson, 35, of Spring Valley was busted for DWI around 3:53 a.m. Monday after being stopped for a traffic violation on Route 45. During the stop, he was found to be intoxicated and arrested, the Rockland County Sheriff's Office said. A head-on crash that closed Route 45 for several hours seriously injured a 67-year-old Hillcrest woman. The crash happened around 8 a.m. Tuesday on Route 45 just north of New Hempstead Road when a 31-year-old Haverstraw man driving a 1997 Ford Econoline work van crossed into the northbound lane and collided with a 2010 Toyota Corolla, said Ramapo Police.
