Person Lying On Tracks Rescued At Hudson Valley Train Station Rail traffic at a Northern Westchester train station was temporarily halted when an unconscious person was found lying on the tracks, fire officials said.  The incident happened on Thursday, Feb. 15 around 2:45 p.m., when Croton-on-Hudson firefighters and police as well as MTA Police found an unconscious person on the tracks, the Croton-on-Hudson Fire Department announced on Friday night, Feb. 16.  Metro-North officials then stopped rail traffic and disconnected power to the high-voltage third rail, allowing rescuers to reach the person. Man Clinging To Branch After Trying To Save Dog Rescued From Croton River A simple walk with his dog turned into a nightmare for a man who ended up clinging to a tree branch to keep from drowning in the rushing water of the Croton River. The man became stranded while chasing his dog who ran into the water in the Croton Gorge Park section of the river around 7 p.m. Wednesday, said the Croton Fire Department on Facebook. A passerby noticed the man and called 911.
