Ulster County resident Michael J. Brooks, age 62, of Plattekill, was charged on Friday, Feb. 23 in the town of Lloyd. According to Lloyd Police Chief James Janso, Brooks robbed the Mobil gas station on Grand Street in Highland of $2,800 on Wednesday, Feb. 21. Ulster County resident Jason Lynch, age 44, of the town of Lloyd, was stopped around 1:30 a.m., Tuesday, July 4 in a 2014 Lexus IS in the city of Newburgh. According to Trooper Steven Nevel, while troopers were speaking to Lynch, they learned that his license was suspended, and he seemed to be impaired by alcohol. The crash took place in Ulster County in the town of Lloyd on Tuesday, May 17. Alfredo Gomes, age 59, of Lloyd, was killed while driving a 1997 Toyota Corolla, westbound on Route 299 when he crossed the double yellow line and ran head-on into a 2021 Volvo driven by Ashley Guerrero, age 35, of the city of Poughkeepsie, said Trooper Steven Nevel, of the New York State Police.
