Area Teen Sentenced For Fatal Stabbing After Social Media Fight
An 18-year-old from Northern Westchester who admitted to stabbing two teenagers, one of whom died during a fight that started on social media, will spend time in prison, the District Attorney’s Office announced. Peekskill resident Matthew Torres has been sentenced to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to manslaughter and assault earlier this year. In addition to his time behind bars, Torres was also sentenced to five years of post-release supervision. Torres had faced up to 25 years in prison. 18-Year-Old Fatally Stabbed During Incident In Area
An investigation is underway after an 18-year-old was fatally stabbed during an incident in Northern Westchester. On Saturday, Nov. 28 at approximately 9:30 p.m., Peekskill Police officers responded to the New York-Presbyterian Hudson Valley Hospital for a report of at least two males who arrived there with apparent stab wounds to the torso area. Bald eagles are flying now, flyin' high now, they're gonna fly, fly, fly as they make a comeback in New York. According to the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, in 1976, there was only one pair of bald eagles nesting in New York.
