Charles Osgood, Former Host Of 'CBS Sunday Morning,' North Jersey Resident, Dies At 91 Charles Osgood, a fixture on "CBS Sunday Morning" for decades and a longtime resident of Bergen County, died on Tuesday, Jan. 23 at the age of 91 from dementia in Upper Saddle River, his family announced in an obituary shared by CBS News.  Osgood, born Charles Osgood Wood III joined CBS News in 1971 and anchored the venerable Sunday morning broadcast for 22 years from 1994 to 2016.
