$100K ID Theft Scheme: Trio Nabbed In Act At Auto Dealership In Hudson Valley, Police Say Three suspects were apprehended in the act of allegedly trying to pull off a $100,000 identity theft scheme at an auto dealership in Westchester County, according to authorities. At around 4:30 p.m. Thursday, March 30, detectives were alerted by staff at New Rochelle Toyota that a possible fraudulent purchase of a vehicle was in progress at the dealership. Hudson Valley Resident Killed In Double-Fatal Long Island Crash A Hudson Valley resident was among the victims in a double-fatal crash on Long Island. It happened around 1:30 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 21 on the westbound side of the Northern State Parkway in Suffolk County in the area of Exit 39 in Huntington, state police said. ID Released For Victim Of Fatal I-287 Crash The man who was killed Tuesday night in a crash on I-287 has been identified. Investigation at the scene revealed the driver of a box truck, John P. Riofrio, 48, of New York City, was traveling eastbound on I-287 when he collided with another vehicle at around 7:33 p.m. between Exits 9A and 10 in Harrison on the eastbound side, state police said. After the collision, Riofrio then lost control of his truck and traveled off the roadway over the southern shoulder and through the guide rail, according to police. The cause of death was cardiac arrest, which occurred while he was playing basketball, according to a GoFundMe page that has raised more than $10,000. He was born on Nov. 18, 1997 in Astoria Queens.  After moving to Middletown with his family in 2003, Roland attended Truman Moon Elementary School.
