A woman who was high on drugs assaulted a state trooper and damaged his police vehicle during an arrest, New York State Police said. Troopers in Ulster County first made contact with the woman at around 9:45 p.m. Thursday, June 9, after witnessing her violate traffic laws on Washington Avenue in the town of Ulster, police said. A police officer was seriously injured after being dragged by a fleeing shoplifting suspect in the Hudson Valley. The incident took place in Dutchess County around 1:45 p.m. on Tuesday, March 15 in the Town of Poughkeepsie, at the Home Depot store located on North Road.
