It happened around 6:15 a.m. Wednesday, July 6 in Ronkonkoma.

John Hannon, age 25, of Patchogue, was riding a 2015 Honda motorcycle westbound on Veterans Memorial Highway when the vehicle was struck by an eastbound 2006 Toyota Tacoma making a left turn onto Artic Avenue, Suffolk County Police said.

Hannon was transported to Long Island Community Hospital in Patchogue where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The driver of the Toyota, a 54-year-old Huntington man who was alone in the vehicle, was transported to the same hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
