U.S. Justice Department Honors Rockland District Attorney's Program

CLARKSTOWN, N.Y. -- The U.S. Justice Department has cited Rockland District Attorney Thomas Zugibe for a crime fighting and prevention program involving prosecutors, the police and community that he implemented in 2008, according to a report by lohud.com.

The program -- called Intelligence Led Community Policing, Community Prosecution and Community Partnership — has been used in other cities across the country and has helped increase safety and bring better understanding of the justice system in each, said lohud.com.

Rockland District Thomas Zugibe said in a statement that he's honored by the recognition that the program helped improved safety, added lohud.com.
