"This gives us the ability to get started right away in the event of a major flammable liquid fire," Dan Greeley, assistant director of Rockland County's Office of Fire and Emergency Services, told Loud.com on Tuesday.
Rockland is one of 19 counties to receive the trailer from the state, said Greeley. It will be stationed at the Orangeburg Fire Department, said Lohud.com.
Rockland County Executive Ed Day said: "This new apparatus will allow our first responders to provide better service with advanced firefighting technology that will benefit the residents and visitors of Rockland County.""This is like an insurance policy," Greeley said. "You hope you never have to use it but you're glad you have it."
A few months ago, the county received a foam shooter, that mixes water and foam concentrate together and shoot as far a football field. It is being kept at the Rockland County Fire Training Center in Pomona, said Lohud.com.
