On Sunday, Commander John Antonucci and his Raymond DeMeola VFW Post 1615 honored local service members during its annual Veterans Day event, held at the Camp Shanks Memorial's Walkway of Heroes.

World War II veteran Al Moskin was named "Veteran of the Year" by his peers at the Rockland County Veteran's Coordinating Council. Moskin's was noted for his tireless work in educating young people about the horrors of the Holocaust, something he experienced firsthand as a Gunskirchen Lager concentration camp liberator.
