Photos: Large Tree Crashes Onto House In Area A family in the area got an unexpected and unwelcome wake-up call when a tree came crashing through the roof of the house. First responders in Ramapo were dispatched to the residence on Feller Court in the Village of Airmont shortly after 4:30 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 12 where there was a report of a large, tall tree that had uprooted and struck the household. Fallen Trees Force Major Route 9 Closure In Westchester Wind damaged trees falling across Route 9 has necessitated a major north-south road closing late Monday afternoon, Feb. 25. As of just before 4:30 p.m., Route 9 is closed from the Sleepy Hollow Cemetery’s main entrance to the Phelps Memorial Hospital entrance. The closing is for an estimated four hours to enable tree crews and local DPW workers to inspect additional trees and to clear the current damage, Briarcliff Manor Village Manager Philip E.
