Yorktown Town Supervisor Matt Slater confirmed that the building department has received plans for a new supermarket to be constructed on Crompond Road (Route 202) following months of construction at the shopping center. Congressman Jamaal Bowman, whose district includes parts of Southern Westchester and the Bronx, said that his mother, Pauline Bowman, died over the weekend on Valentine's day due to COVID-19. New Snowfall Projections Released For Quick-Moving Storm Moving Through Region A quick-moving storm system arrived in the area just after daybreak on Tuesday, Feb. 9, bringing a mix of snow, sleet, and freezing rain to the area and creating hazardous driving conditions in parts of the region. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from 4 a.m. Tuesday to 1 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 10 for the areas shown in the first image above. $35M Barbara Walters Campus Center Breaks Ground At Sarah Lawrence Sarah Lawrence College students will soon have a new place to call home. The college in Southern Westchester broke ground on the $35 million Barbara Walters Campus Center Wednesday. The campus center is named in honor of the famed TV anchor, who donated $15 million.  The center will include the Barbara Walters Gallery for exhibitions of fine art and the Barbara Walters Archives and Reading Room. The 34,800-square-foot center will serve as a gathering place for students, faculty, and staff with lounges, dining, and event facilities. The center is expected to open in the fall of 2019. "…
