Members of the Yonkers Fire Department were dispatched at approximately 6:15 p.m. on Monday afternoon to the Bronx River Parkway northbound lanes, near the Sprain Brook Parkway split, when a car went off the road and landed in the river, prompting an emergency rescue. The incident took place around 8:10 p.m. Wednesday near Glen Island Park, said New Rochelle Police Capt. J.C. Coyne. According to Coyne, the two unidentified people had been out boating when they hit a rock and their boat began to sink.  Luckily, New Rochelle Officer Timothy Childs was out paroling the harbor when he spotted the two in trouble. Several People Rescued After Car Crashes Near Reservoir In Carmel Multiple first responders were able to save several people from serious injury after a car crashed into an embankment near a reservoir in Carmel with the occupants still inside. The crash took place Friday afternoon on Washington Road, off of Route 6, according to officials. Carmel Police were first on the scene and found an occupied vehicle down the embankment. Woman Rescued After Buildings Collapse During Storm In Poughkeepsie A woman who had been trapped for several hours was pulled from the rubble by rescuers Monday night after a building collapsed onto two others in Poughkeepsie. Rotanya Hargrove was alert and conscious when she was rescued at about 8 p.m., nearly four hours after a vacant, seven-story building collapsed onto two other buildings during a severe thunderstorm with gusty winds.
