Authorities are investigating the death of a man whose body was found along a Hudson Valley road. The body of Northern Westchester County resident Charles Flowers, age 81, of Somers, was discovered on Stoneleigh Avenue in Putnam County on Wednesday, Oct. 30 around 1 p.m. in the town of Carmel, according to Trooper AJ Hicks of the New York State Police. Hicks said that Flowers had been a patient at Putnam Hospital in Carme but had been discharged before his death. A new traffic pattern will be in place for more than six months on a busy roadway in the region. The New York State Department of Transportation (DOT) is advising motorists in Northern Westchester County that the new pattern controlled by temporary signals will be on Route 6/202 in Cortlandt. The new pattern is necessary to facilitate an ongoing flood mitigation project at the Annsville Circle, the DOT said. A man from the region has been accused of posing as an attorney and targeting victims, including one he allegedly scammed out of thousands of dollars. The New York State Police have reported that an investigation has revealed that Northern Westchester County resident David Karaca, 56, of Somers, impersonated a lawyer in a virtual Alcoholics Anonymous group based in Los Angeles. Man Jumps To Death From Bear Mountain Bridge
A 48-year-old man jumped to his death from a Hudson Valley bridge. The incident took place on Friday, Nov. 10 at the Bear Mountain Bridge near in the town of Cortlandt in Northern Westchester County. According to New York State Police Trooper AJ Hicks, New Jersey resident Aleksey P. Mikhaylov, of Northvale, was located and pronounced dead at the scene. A man who jumped to his death from Bear Mountain Bridge has been identified by state police. The incident took place in Northern Westchester County in Cortlandt around 2:15 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 12.
