Burt was born on March 8, 1923 in Chicago, the son of Frances and Burton Erickson. He was the oldest of three children. He was predeceased in death by his sister Gertrude “Trudie” Hodges and his brother Jerome “Jerry” Erickson. Burt married the love of his life Rita Marie Jerome on Dec. 27, 1952.
